Congrats, Chrysler. You have made the new Viper, and it's getting rave reviews. *YAWN... Now can we please put that engine into what it SHOULD be in: a single cab Ram?!
I'm all for the Viper, don't get me wrong. It's a stinking hoss of a car, and an American challenger to the European exotics. It's a hot ride (and I ain't just talking about those early edition exterior running board-esque tail pipes.... YOUCH!!!). But some of us enjoy the outlandish. The Frankensteins of performance vehicles. A car that, when it went from the drawing board to a working model, had some engineer walking over to it, begin cackling, raising his hands above his head while screaming "It's alive!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!" That's what I like.
Shoehorning a performance V10 into the truck wouldn't be a problem. Mating the transmission with the snake engine might be challenging, but doable. Keeping someone from burning through a pair of rear tires on a whim would be impossible (if said driver had the urge to chunk $600 worth of tires for the hell of it). I'm just wondering if it's feasible. Are there enough people with a taste for bastardized redheaded step children on steroids and meth willing to pay about $65k for it (estimate off the top of my head)?
I hope so. NOW BUILD IT!!

Obligatory SRT 10 flipped over burnout post.
But in all seriousness, HELL YEA THEY NEED TO MAKE ONE. I loved the old ones, and I love the idea of a new one. I also think they need to make a tribute to the Lil Red Express truck (I think I saw a post earlier that had one) using the 392 Hemi out of a Challenger. And vertical exhaust stacks are a must.

It would be pointless and stupid BUT THEY SHOULD DO IT! Hell even they could make 10k profit on it and I still bet at that price point they would get some sales.

SRT-10 is played out. Chrysler needs an SRT-20. V10 up front, V10 in the rear. 4 wheels of burnout.

I have heard Ralph Gilles talking about how the SRT division looked into stacks for production but they found that they are illegal to be produced from the factory. If anything it would have to be an aftermarket product.
